New in OwnSites: a backlog for every website

A website is never finished. There is always a page title that could be clearer, a call to action that sits too low, a section a visitor never reaches. Until now, those ideas lived in emails, notes and phone calls. Starting this week, every OwnSites website has one place for all of them: its Backlog.
What is the Backlog?
The Backlog is a list of everything that could make your site better, under the Backlog tab of your site in OwnSites. Each item says what it is about (search, content, design, conversion, speed, accessibility or analytics) and who raised it:
- Suggested by AI. Weekly checks of your pages for search issues, what visitors see on the first screen and what your visit numbers show.
- Added by you. Anything you want changed, typed straight into the list. Change requests you send us land here too.
- Added by our team. Things we spot while working on your site.
How does a change get made?
When an item needs something only you know, such as which photo to use, a fact about your business or the wording you prefer, we ask in the item itself. You answer on the page, and the item moves on.
We make the change, then send you a change document: what was wrong, what we changed and where to see it, with before and after screenshots. Nothing goes live until you approve it. If it is not right, send it back with a comment and we revise it.
Once you approve, the change is released to your live site and the item is marked done, so the list always shows what is open, what is waiting on you and what is finished.
Why we built it
Small improvements add up, but only if they get done. A shared list makes them visible, a question in the right place gets answered faster than a long email thread, and an approval step means you are never surprised by a change to your own website.
How do I start?
Open your site in OwnSites and choose Backlog. You will see what the weekly checks found, any questions waiting for you, and a button to add your own item. If you are not an OwnSites customer yet and want a website that keeps improving, share your idea with us.
